AFC Leopards custodian Jairus Adira has been named the club’s Player of the Month for February after his heroics for the club in the month, which also saw him take up the number one slot after joining from Chemelil Sugar.
The keeper crossed over from the Millers to Leopards in the December-January transfer window and made his Kenyan Premier League (KPL) debut for Ingwe as they faced off with Posta Rangers on match day one. In the match he saved a penalty to see the match end in a 1-1 draw.
He would register his first cleansheet in the CAF Confederations Cup as Leopards played away to FOSA Juniors. The keeper also featured in the 2-1 win over Ulinzi Stars and 1 - 2 loss Sofapaka.
Voting for the Player of the Month was done by the club’s technical bench and players, while the National Executive Committee gave out the prize money of Kshs 10000 for the feat.
“Congratulations to our goalkeeper Jairus Adirah who was voted AFC Leopards' February player of the month by AFC Leopards players and technical bench. He was rewarded 10,000/= by the club's National Executive Committee, read a post by Leopards.
Adira will be hoping to continue enjoying starts in goal ahead of Gabriel Andika and Ezekiel Owade. In March he has already had starts against Mathare United and Sony Sugar, with Leopards winning both games 4 - 3 and 2 - 0.
