AFC Leopards handed ultimatum to pay dropped players

13-time Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions AFC Leopards have until Friday 17 June to pay eight players’ unpaid salary arrears and allowances accruing to Kshs. 2,145,582.

The eight players namely Solomon Nasio, Clement Mata, Simon Sikuku, Eugine Musilwa, Khalid Jumaan, Emmanuel Onyancha, Daniel Kiptoo and Kevin Migunde had a successful hearing by the Independent Disciplinary and Complaints Committee (IDCC) that ordered the club to pay the arrears.

Accrued arrears

“AFC have to pay the accrued arrears of the eight players by this Friday according to the IDCC ruling. If they don't then will take the case to the next level,

“The ruling in regards to the breach of contracts will also be made on Friday and we hope it will be in favour of the players. It's time Kenyan clubs started respecting the contracts they get into with players,” lawyer Elvis Majani confirmed to Soka.

Khalid Jumaan

Khalid Jumaan will take home the highest amount totaling to Kshs. 809, 852 followed by Clement Kabemba who will pocket Kshs. 500, 697. Other players Solomon Nasio Kshs. 141,000, Simon Mwalimu Shikuku Kshs. 150,697, Emmanuel Onyancha Kshs. 120,000, Daniel Kandie Kiptoo Kshs. 135,000, Eugene Musilwa 185,000 and Kevin Akech Mugunde Kshs. 105,000.
