The Kenyan Premier League (KPL) match pitting AFC Leopards against league newcomers Wazito FC has been postponed from Thursday 15 February to a later date that will be communicated, the KPL management has confirmed.
The clash, initially scheduled for Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos, had been given the midweek date due to AFC Leopards’ engagement in the CAF Confederations Cup on the weekend of February 10 – 11.
AFC Leopards, who played to a 1 – 1 draw with Madagascan side FOSA Juniors in the Confederations Cup remain winless from their match day one engagement in the KPL, having also picked a 1 – 1 draw with Posta Rangers while Wazito FC have three points in the bag, having beaten Sony Sugar 1 – 0.
Zoo FC – Gor Mahia
Meanwhile, the match pitting Zoo FC against Gor Mahia at the Kericho Green Stadium on Thursday 15 February is still on and scheduled to commence at 4pm EAT and will be aired live on KTN.
While Gor Mahia picked the biggest win of match day one in the KPL, after thrashing Nakumatt 4 – 0, Zoo suffered one of the heaviest losses, going down 2 – 4 to Ulinzi Stars on the opening weekend of the season.
Ticket charges for the clash will be Kshs 500 and Kshs 200 for the main stand and terraces respectively.
Top 8 draw
The KPL management has also issued communication to the effect that the draw for the 2018 KPL Top 8 tournament, which was scheduled for Tuesday 13 February has been postponed and a new date will be issued.
Gor, Sofapaka, Kariobangi Sharks, Posta Rangers, Kakamega Homeboyz, Tusker, Ulinzi Stars and AFC Leopards are the teams that will be taking part in the draw as the tournament returns after missing in 2017.
