Former Western Stima defender Vitalis Akumu is settling fast at his new team, Sofapaka and says his main target is to win the 2018 Kenya Premier League (KPL) title with the club and besides that he eager to make the team’s fans ‘a happy lot’.

Akumu crossed over to Sofapaka in the December-January transfer period after Stima got relegated to the National Super League (NSL) following a dismal performance in the 2017 KPL season.

A utility man, Akumu is ready to play in any position assigned and has vowed to impress in whatever role head coach Sam Ssimbwa will decide to hand him.

Any position

“I may be mistaken for a braggart bit I want to categorically point out that I can play in any position. That is Akumu for you and if I get a chance in Sam Ssimbwa’s line-up, I will make Sofapaka fans a happy lot."

'I’m here to play football and I don’t anticipate anything short of winning the league title with Sofapaka,” Akumu told Sofapaka’s official portal.

Akumu joins his former team mate at Stima, Jackson Saleh and Burundian Moussa Omar as the new signings in the team’s defence.
