Ulinzi Stars will have to do without the services of midfielder Ibrahim Shambi when they take on Mathare United in week three of the Kenyan Premier League action; the Kenya U23 player having been withdrawn at the interval in the club's first two games of the season.
In their first match of the season against Vihiga United (a game they lost), he came out with a deep cut in the mouth which needed stitching after an aerial collision, and the same happened in the second match against Kenya Commercial Bank with the club through their doctor John Imboywa saying he will have to be kept off action until he fully recovers.
“We had to stitch him on the same spot as in the first game and so I think it is wise to keep him off action until he fully heals,” Imboywa is quoted by the club's portal.
Apart from Shambi, the team will still miss the services of forward Omar Boraafya, who sustained a thigh injury in training ahead of the second match of the season with Mark Bikokwa still ruled out as he continues with his recovery from a hamstring injury.
The tie against Mathare is slated for Sunday 23 December at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani from 3 pm.
