Nzoia Sugar are close to appointing former Thika United tactician Nicholas Muyoti as head coach as has been confirmed by club chairman Ngisa Mokua.
Talks have been ongoing between the two parties with the deal on the verge of completion if personal terms can be agreed.
Nzoia have been on the lookout for a new coach after the sudden resignation of Bernard Mwalala in early July with his former assistant Vincent Sifuna holding forte. Mwalala has since joined coastal outfit Bandari.
Mokua who rejoined the club as a replacement of former chair David Egesa confirmed the news saying, “When I joined the team I found the process of acquiring a new coach already having begun and therefore there was no need of stopping it. I can confirm yes that Muyoti has had talks with us and the only thing remaining is if personal terms can be agreed.
“He is a good coach who has a proven record of having coached the best teams in the land.”
Muyoti left Thika United, a club that he had been with for two years in May of this year after a string of poor results.
