Bundes and Kibra pick slim wins in Dagoretti Cup

Day five in the ongoing Dagoretti Cup was all about defenses as Bundes FC and Kibra United prevailed by slim 1-0 scorelines against Meltah Kabiria and Vapor Sports in Group E encounters played on Wednesday 5 December at the Kawangware CDF Grounds.

Goal Scorers

James Karenga bailed Bundes out with the only goal of the game while David Owino popped up for Kibra United when it looked like Vapor Sports would secure a share of the spoils.

The teams will be in action again on Jamhuri Day, Tuesday 12 December with Vapor playing host to Bundes FC while Meltah Kabiria will take on Kibra United.

The tournament started on Saturday 2 December and will conclude on Monday 1 January 2018.

There are six groups of four teams each. The top two in every group will advance to the round of 16 and the third best teams in every group will go in a playoff to determine which other four teams will advance.

Whitewash

Defending champions MWAT lost their first fixture going down 1-0 to FIFA Best. The tournament has been no short of talking points with the biggest win currently being that of 111 Estates against Premier FC which saw the Ngong based side whitewash Premier 10-0 on Monday 4 December.

The winner at the end of it all will walk away with a cash prize of Kshs.100, 000 with the second best team earning Kshs.50, 000. The third and fourth placed teams will walk away with Ksh.30, 000 and Kshs.20, 000 respectivley.
