It will be a clash of the saints in the Western Region Chapa Dimba na Safaricom finals when Lugari Blue Saints takes on The Saints from Butere-Mumias in the boys final set for Sunday 13th at the Bukhungu Stadium. Lugari were 2-0 winners over Friends Bukembe while The Saints soundly dispatched Ebbu Stars from Vihiga 4-0.
Atem Kato grabbed a brace for the Saints while the other two goals were dispatched by Omondi Felix and Venadine Ambetsa.
Brian Lusamukha opened the scoring proceedings for Lugari Blue Saints in the 69th minute against Friend Bukembe after a barren opening half. Asuza Dennis would then wrap up the tie six minutes later to sent Lugari into the final with a 2-0 victory.
In the Girls' category, defending champions Arch Bishop Njenga from Lugari have an uphill task when they face Kakamega's Ibinzo Girls.
On their way to the final, Ibinzo took down King'andole 2-1 courtesy of Phelister Nabwire's brace. Ann Mwalubi's goal for King'andole was only a consolation. The defending champions on their part had captain Violet Wanyonyi score in the 48th minute to brush aside a semi-final challenge from Brenda Girls.
The regional winners are set to pocket Ksh 200,000 each and will also get to participate in the national finals scheduled for June this year and will be played at Kinoru Stadium in Meru.
The eventual winner of the competition gets to win Ksh 2 million and this year- an all-star team will be assembled from throughout the competition and attend a training camp in Spain.
After the Kakamega finals, the competition will then head to Kisumu for the Nyanza region finals in February.
