Six sub branch winners were identified in the weekend ended on Sunday 18 November 2018 as Chapa Dimba na Safaricom completed its third round in Western Branch. Two girls teams - Lusengeli Secondary School and Kingandole Queens, and four boys' teams - Ebbu Stars, Wakongwe, Busia Wolves and The Saints all won sub branch titles to book their places in the final pre Western region qualifying round.

The six join two qualified girls teams; Red Commandoes (Butere-Mumias sub branch) and Ibinzo Girls (Kakamega Sub branch) who lifted their respective titles during the second round of games in the past weekend.

The four boys and four girls winners will enter a final round of games to provide two boys and two girls teams that will qualify for the regional finals set for Bukhungu Stadium in mid January 2019. A similar number will be provided by North Western Branch who had a break this weekend. They play their penultimate round of games next weekend to identify winners for Teso, Mt. Elgon, Bungoma and Lugari sub branches.

On Saturday Wakongwe, coached by former Homeboyz player Dennis Mukaisi dismissed CC Junior 3-0 at Mukumu Girls school to lift the Kakamega sub branch title as Ebbu Stars lit Kidundu Stadium in Vihiga by laying to rest the Pythons in post match shoot outs. They won it 5-3 after normal time ended 1-1.

For a place in the final Ebbu Stars beat Shaviringa 1-0 in the semis as Pythons beat Mumboha 2-0. At the same venue, Lusengeli received their title after a well worked 6-0 dispatch of Khwiliba Ladies.

On Sunday, a structured Busia Wolves continued their impressive stride by seeing off a Felix Oucho-coached Teens of Hope 2-0 at the Busia Stadium to qualify for the pre-regional round. Geoffrey Maende was the toast for the Wolves as he buried home a brace to send the team past a promising Teens of Hope side full of youngsters.

Not too far off, at Odiado Primary School, Kingandole Queens had a narrow 1-0 escape over The Lionesses to be declared the Busia sub branch winner. Brenda Nekesa scored the separating goal.
