Diego unimpressed with Nyamira All Stars stalemate

Coach Ambrose Diego Otieno's start to the FKF Div 2 league started on a sour note after seeing his team battle t contain visiting Nyamira All Stars on Saturday 10th at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu.

Lower Tier Pedigree

For a coach with commendable pedigree in the Division from his time at Palos, he insists it was a mediocre showing from his side who are doing their second season in the Div 2.

''This was a mediocre performance. Generally my boys were down from the words go. We really struggled through the 90 minutes and all we can do now is head back to training and have some serious talk,'' says Otieno.

The church  side had to dig deep in order to claw back to the tie after the visitors had shown all intent of wanting to run away with all of the day's spoils. Aided by the experience of David Amimo, Y-zone saw the tie stall at 2-2, a fair result for them but not what Otieno who now travels away to AP Kipipiri, wanted.

''We had a problem in the final third, just couldn't get our passes through especially the final one. Those are things we have to look at  in training before going to AP Kipipiri,'' he adds.

Div 1 Urge

Y-zone made their Div 2 debut in 2017 after qualifying from the Kisumu County League 2016 season. Having failed to upset the Div 2 odds in their debut season, the management went ahead to rope in a few experienced players to the side that now intends to rise up to Div 1 by the end of the season.
