Derick Otanga scored a hat-trick to ensure Naivas FC bagged maximum points with a 3-1 win over Butterfly FC in an FKF Division 2 match staged at the Ruiru Gounds on Saturday 21 October.
The hosts took an early lead five minutes into the match before Otanga pulled one back in the half hour mark to take the match into the break on level terms.
After the breather, the ex Headquarter FC hitman grabbed his second and third goals in the 74th and 78th minutes respectively to enable the supermarket chain side pick maximum points on the road.
Naivas stand in coach Samuel Gakure hailed the team for extending their winning Streak, a week after downing Gor Youth to stretch their lead at the helm of the log as the team eyes promotion.
He also lauded Otanga who joined the team in the transfer window period but has since scored 10 goals in eight matches.
"It feels good to see the team perform well besides playing according to instructions. It is the second match with me incharge but they have given me an easy time. Derrick is a good forward and I think sky is the limit for him since he has what it takes to be one of the best strikers in the country.
"The team has other talented players and with the kind of quality we have it will be nice to get promotion to the next level as we aim to play in the top flight league in years to come," he said.
Naivas top the Log with 69 points from 28 matches, ahead of their next encounter against PCEA Kikuyu at the Sameer Grounds on Sunday 22 October.
