Following a 3-1 loss at the hands of Cape Town City FC in the South African Premier Soccer League (PSL), Black Leopards have dismissed Coach Joel Masutha and in his place roped in former Gor Mahia FC head coach Dylan Kerr.
While making the announcement on their official social media handles, Leopards were economical with details.
''Welcome @legend3,'' post read. Legend3 is Kerr's twitter handle.
Kerr parted ways with Gor Mahia on Thursday 15 November after submitting his official letter of resignation. Prior to this, there had been speculations that he would not return to the club- especially after choosing to stay back in England after their Sportpesa Cup tour.
The man who led Gor Mahia back to the group stages of continental championships was at the helm of K'Ogalo for one and half seasons winning league titles in both seasons.
The 2018 campaign however, will be the one most memorable as the 1987 champions of Africa returned to the group stages of the modernized competition- eventually falling short at the last hurdle after a brilliant opening spell.
He joins a Leopards side that is desperate to stay afloat on their return to the PSL. They were promoted in May 2018 after dispatching off Platinum Stars in the promotion playoffs.
Leopards, who sit 14th in the 16-team PSL log, have only won twice this season after 11 rounds of matches and lie precariously just above the drop zone. This will not however be the Briton's first time in South Africa having been an assistant at Mpumalanga Black Aces (now Cape Town City) back in 2009.
Kerr's first task with the Leopards could have been a monumental clash against former African champions Mamelodi Sundowns on 28 November but the tie has since been postponed as Sundowns will be active in the continent on the November 27. He will now oversee the side's December 1st clash against Bidvest Wits.
