Ulinzi Stars' new acquisition Baron Jobita has admitted that a number of clubs were after his signature following a troubled six month stay at Gor Mahia, the team he joined from Western Stima in the 2016 midseason transfer window.

Jobita, speaking to the club's official portal, ulinzistarsfc.com, said at the end of the 2016 season he was looking for a club that suited him and saw Ulinzi Stars as the best option.

Good shape

“I had several teams who wanted my services but after thorough thought, I made the decision to join Ulinzi because it is a side which suits me. I am happy to be here and hopefully I get back into good shape and help the team do well,” Oketch said.

The former Western Stima attacker further revealed that the allure of playing continental football was too good to turn down as it was a chance to showcase his prowess to a wider audience.

Continental football

“Playing in continental football was also a factor that contributed to me joining Ulinzi. It is a good opportunity to showcase my talent and also a big challenge which is good for any player," Jobita added.

Oketch joined Ulinzi on a one year loan deal from Gor Mahia.
