Former AFC Leopards SC and Mathare United defender Anthony Kimani has kick-started efforts to rescue former Kenyan International Hillary Lefty Omondi from alcoholism and help him live a decent life.
We highlighted Lefty’s plight in third edition of Soka Magazine and Kimani now urges the public to come out in aid of the former Tusker FC, KCB FC and Mumias Sugar FC left back.

“Hillary Lefty Omondi is a former KCB F.C, Mumias sugar F.C, Tusker F.C and Kenyan National team player. At some point in his career he got injured and things took a different turn for the worse. He turned to alcohol and that only made the situation worse. In life we all make mistakes and we all deserve a second chance. He's willing to make amends and turn his life around but he cannot do it alone. He needs all of us to hold his hand and walk with him in his journey to recovery. So we're kindly asking all his friends to help in whichever way they can to ensure that he takes the first step, which is going to rehab,” Kimani’s post on his official facebook account reads in part,
“The next step will be to try and empower him economically by starting a small business for him and to also enrol him in coaching classes. 0714325643, this is an mpesa number for those who are willing to give monetary support. It is a new number that is registered under Paul Otieno, who is his brother in-law. He will be briefing us on the progress and in the end he will get a statement of all the transactions for transparency purposes. All ideas on how best to help Lefty are welcome,” it adds.
Soka takes this opportunity to thank Kimani for the great initiative and kindly request everyone to support Lefty in any possible way.
