Former Sofapaka man in as Burundi release CECAFA squad

Burundi national team head coach Olivier Niyungeko has named his squad that will take part in the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup scheduled for Sunday 3 December to Sunday 17 December in Kenya.

Former Sofapaka man Abdoul Razak Fiston who currently plies his trade in South Africa has been included in the 25 man squad and the potent forward line for the Brundians will alsso have Simba SC hitman Laudit Mavugo. 

Karim misses

Gor Mahia defender Karim Nizigiyimana misses out as he is nursing a long term injury, sustained in the just concluded Kenyan Premier League (KPL) season.

A total of 10 teams will be taking part in the tournament; eight being from the CECAFA region and two guest teams; Zimbabwe and Libya. 

The teams have been pooled into two groups with the winners and runners up in either group getting automatic qualification to the semis. 

Azam TV will broadcast the matches live.
