Former AFC Leopards forward Gilbert Fiamenyo still features strongly in the top scorers' chart
Golden Boot Race; Fiamenyo ghost haunts the charts

The Kenyan Premier League is set to resume this Wednesday with week 21 matches expected to be played following the postponement of week 20 ties. While the race at the top- at least for the first five teams on the log- is tight, the same cannot be said of the top scorers' log as Stephen Waruru- firm at the pole almost doubles whoever comes second.

Waruru Form

Ulinzi Stars may not have had the best tidings from their last three matches but even in those losses, Waruru it seems- will still leave a mark. His last goal was in their 2-1 home dismissal by Nzoia Sugar, one that took his tally to 11 from 19 matches.

At Nakumatt, Kepha Aswani's dwindling form sees him stay grounded on six goals and this has seen Posta Rangers' Dennis Mukaisi and Sofapaka's Ezekiel Okare catch up with him. Mukaisi though, will miss their next fixture after seeing red in their last outing- a 1-0 victory over champions Tusker FC.

Fiamenyo Ghost

The story of AFC Leopards without enough goals recently is explicitly detailed by the fact that their leading scorer doesn't even feature for the club anymore. Gilbert Fiamenyo fired a gallant five in the first leg of the season and this places him fifth on the scorers' log despite not featuring once since week 13. He shares this club of five with Shami Kibwana (Thika United), Jacques Tuyisenge (Gor Mahia), Boniface Omondi (Gor Mahia) Michael Madoya (Zoo), Amos Asembeka (Sony Sugar) and John Mwita (Chemelil Sugar).

Ulinzi's Samuel Onyango, Mathare's Chrispin Oduor and Gor Mahia's Meddie Kagere stay on four goals.
