Gor Mahia begin quest for 18th League Title

Gor Mahia Football Club who will be playing against coastal side Bandari FC will be looking to begin their title defense tomorrow (Saturday 8 December) at Mbaraki Sports Club from 3PM.

Encounter

Gor Mahia, having always won in their opening games will be aiming for a win against Bandari, which will be the 35th league meeting between the two sides having their first encounter in May 1990 which ended in 1-1 draw with Joseph Owino from Gor and Charles Ombima from Bandari scoring the goals.

Departure

Top scorers in this fixture Meddie Kagere and Godfrey Walusimbi departed the club both having scored 3 goals, with current player George Odhiambo having scored twice in the League against Bandari.

Meanwhile, with expected travel during the midweek to Malawi, the game against Bandari could mark the first League debut for strikers Erisa Ssekisambu and former Zoo FC player Nicholas Kipkurui. Shafik Batambuze could be making his league debut for Gor having already amassed  huge chunk of pre-season minutes. 

Wins

Gor who have won 17 matches, losing six and drawing 11 against the coastal lads will be hoping for a good start having a good form of goals against Bandari scoring 38 times while conceding 18 times boasting a 20 plus goal difference.
