Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr has a major headache heading to the Week 23 Kenyan Premier league (KPL) clash against Nzoia Sugar FC at the Moi Stadium Kisumu with the revelation that they may miss the services of defender Karim Nizigiyamana and midfielder Ernest Wendo.
Kerr confirmed to Soka that Nizigiyamana had not trained with the team for a better part of the week with Wendo having arrived from international duty with illness.

“Karim(Nizigiyamana) has not trained with the team from Monday. He came yesterday (Thursday) and I asked him how he was doing and he told me he was ready to play but I sent him to Sandro (the teams’ fitness trainer) who advised that he wasn’t ready yet for a serious game and stated that he should be integrated back to the team slowly.
“As for Wendo, he arrived with what seemed to be a malaria infection. I am not ruling them out of our next tie and we will assess them before making a final decision,” Kerr added.
The coach further lauded his defensive unit for work well done in their last few games but calls for more.
“Apart from a lousy goal we conceded against Muhoroni Youth and the goal we shipped against AFC Leopards, I think our defensive unit has done well in our past few games. They have been immense in training and so is the entire team. We should focus now on Nzoia because every team in the league comes to face us with a different mentality.
“Sofapaka, Rangers and even Tusker are creeping closer so we can’t be comfortable yet. Being comfortable only calls for trouble,” Kerr added.
The game against Nzoia Sugar is set for 3pm EAT on Saturday 9 September.
