One Division Two side, two Division One sides, four from the second tier National Super League (NSL) and nine from the top tier Kenyan Premier League (KPL) will contest the round of 16 of the domestic Cup - GOtv Shield on 23 and 24 July.
The 16 came through the round of 32 played on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 July across the country.

The biggest casualties from that second round were big wigs Gor Mahia and last year's runners up Ulinzi Stars who went down 7-6 on aggregate to Bandari after post match penalties and 1-0 to Sony Sugar, respectively. Those two games were part of three all-KPL duels, and in the other, Sofapaka dismissed Western Stima 1-0 to progress to the third round.
But while Bandari, Sony and Sofapaka had to go past familiar KPL opposition, six others; Nakumatt, Kakamega Homeboyz, Nakumatt, Kariobangi Sharks, Tusker and AFC Leopards knocked off teams in the NSL through to the lower tier to advance.
Tusker saw off NSL side Palos FC 1 – 0 at the Kinoru Stadium, Meru as Nzoia Sugar beat Division One side Coast Stima 5-4 on post match penalties at the Mbaraki Sports Club after the two had played to a barren draw in regular time.
Leopards beat NSL side Nairobi Stima 2-0 at Mumias Sports Complex as Homeboyz needed a Francis Nambute goal to outwit Zetech University in an earlier game at the same venue on Saturday while Sharks beat Kenpoly 2-0 in Machakos.
Vihiga leads NSL teams
Log leaders Vihiga United leads three other NSL sides to the last 16. This includes GFE 105, Bidco United and Wazito.
Vihiga United won the battle of NSL sides at camp Toyoyo, seeing off Ushuru FC 4-2 on post match penalties after a barren draw in regulation time. Bidco beat Rainforest 2-0 thanks to goals by Steven Onyango and Geoffrey Ouma while Wazito edged out fellow NSL side KCB 4-3 on post match penalties having settled for a 1-1 draw at 90 minutes. GFE 105 downed Karatina Homeboyz 2-1 in Thika to advance
Two Div 1 sides through
In the early kickoff at Kinoru Stadium on Sunday, home team Taqwa of Isiolo was denied a place in the next round after a 1- 2 fall to Division one side Savannah Cement.
Another team from the same division Eldoret Youth, who made a statement in the first round by ousting Nakuru AllStars, advanced after a 2-0 win over Young Divers.
Mwatate United had a chance of making it three teams in the round of 16 but were shocked by giant killing Butterfly, the only side from Division 2 that now makes it to the next round.
Round of 16 match ups
With the round of 32 down and out, and as per the flow chart provided by Football Kenya Federation (FKF), there will be three all-KPL clashes and one all-NSL in round of 16.
Bandari will face off with Nakumatt as Sony Sugar takes on Nzoia Sugar while Sofapaka takes on Kariobangi Sharks. AFC Leopards has a date with Bidco United as Homeboyz and champions Tusker face Vihiga United and Butterfly, respectively.
NSL sides GFE 105 and Wazito will melt it out in the upcoming round as an Eldoret Youth - Savanah Cement tie guarantees a Division One side a place in the quarterfinals.
