Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr has picked his best 18 for the CAF Confederations Cup game against USM Alger slated for Wednesday 16 May at Moi International Sports Center (MISC) Kasarani starting 7pm, with the key exclusion from the team being that of striker Meddie Kagere.
Kagere scored in the opening Group D game as Gor played to a 1 – 1 draw with Rwandan side Rayon Sport but he picked a yellow card that locks him out of this clash, which leaves the attacking duties to his countryman Jacquest Tuiysenge, while Ivorian Ephrem Guikan comes in as Kagere’s replacement.
Goalkeeper Boniface Oluoch has his place in goal and will be shielded by the regular back four that has Godfrey Walusimbi, skipper Harun Shakava, Joash Onyango and the massively impressive Philemon Otieno, who Kerr has been using in the right back position.
Shaban Odhoji starts on the bench alongside Kevin Omondi, Cercidy Okeyo and Charles Momanyi.
Starting XI: Boniface Oluoch (GK), Philemon Otieno, Godfrey Walusimbi, Joash Onyango, Harun Shakava, Ernest Wendo, Humphrey Mieno, Francis Kahata, George Odhiambo, Ephrem Guikan, Jacques Tuyisenge.
Subs: Shaban Odhoji (GK), Charles Momanyi, Boniface Omondi, Kevin Omondi, Cercidy Okeyo, Joachim Oluoch, Bernard Ondiek.
