Homeboyz forward named September Player of the Month

Kakamega Homeboyz forward Jeremiah Wanjala has been named September 2017 SJAK Player of the Month and was feted in a ceremony staged at the Mumias Sports Complex on Tuesday 14 November. 

Wanjala scored crucial goals for the Kakamega side in September, twice netting winning goals against Sony Sugar and Thika United to bag the monthly gong. 

Other nominees 

Facing stiff competition from Gor Mahia and Kariobangi Sharks forwards Meddie Kagere and Masud Juma who came in second and third with 15 and 14 votes each, the former Sony Sugar player garnered 19 votes to win the award.

In winning the award, Wanjala joins previous winners - Nzoia Sugar defender Brian Otieno, Ulinzi forward Steven Waruru, Gor Mahia midfielder Ernest Wendo, Zoo FC's Michael Madoya  and Gor Mahia's George Odhiambo who were feted for notable performances in March, April,  May and June/July, August respectively. 


The SJAK Player of the Month Award is sponsored by LG Electronics and betting firm, Sportpesa. It comes with a 49 inch LG TV set, a personalized trophy and Kshs 100,000. The club also gets Ksh. 50,000 in addition to the individual award.
