Zambian Super League side Lusaka Dynamos- though with a game more- have edged closer Zesco United who sit at top after their Thursday dismissal of the Ndola based side at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Having headed into the match with several key players out on national duty, Zesco knew what a tough afternoon they would have against a consistent Lusaka side who boast of Ugandan duo of Joseph Ochaya and Herman Wasswa. Kenyan trio of Jesse Were, Anthony Akumu and David Owino all started the match as lanky Ugandan forward Davis Kasirye waited for his turn from the bench.
By the time the half-time break came, Dynamos had managed to keep the hosts at bay ad even managed to send Jesse Were into the referee's book as early a the 8th minute. A double substitution would follow as Lazarous Kambole went out for Mwape Mwelwa whereas Kasirye got his second appearance after replacing Maybin Kalengo.
Jesse Were's pinpoint delivery in the 72nd minute found the former Rayon Sport marksman and he made o mistakes heading away his first goal for the club. This was a lead that only lasted ten minutes as Erick Kabulo drew the visitors back level. It would not end here. Former Power Dynamos man Fwayo Tembo ensured his new side walked out of the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium triumphant.
The win takes Dynamos to 36 points from 20 matches while Zesco stay top of the log with 38 points from 19 matches.
