Kenyan International Jesse Were scored in the very first minute of the game against a high-flying Lusaka Dynamos in Zesco United's 3-0 rout of the Lusaka side, a round 31 match of the Zambian Super League (ZSL) that saw the former champions complete their three match tour of the City.
Having lost their first match on post-match penalties to Napsa Stars, a Cup tie hosted in the same City, Zesco redeemed themselves with a 1-0 league win over Red Arrows three days later and then completed the tour in great fashion dismantling a more fancied Dynamos 3-0.
Having started alongside his fellow Kenyan International David Odhiambo, Jesse quickly sprung into action notching home the opener with just one minute played. This is a lead John Ching'andu would double in the second half fifteen minutes after restart. Another Kenyan Inyternational Anthony Akumu was then summoned from the bench in the 67th minute for Enock Sabumukwama.
Goal-scorer Were was also withdrawn in the 83rd minute for Lazarous Kambole, a change that instantly worked magic as Kambole soon made it 3-0. United stays 3rd on the log on 55 points despite having played two less games than table-toppers Zanaco who fly two points above Zesco.
