Kariobangi Sharks keeper resumes training after two-month absence

After close to two months on the sidelines due to a back injury, Kariobangi Sharks first choice keeper Jeff Oyemba has resumed light training.

The keeper's last appearance was on June 17, 2018 in the 0-1 loss to Posta Rangers and he has missed the last  six Kenyan Premier League (KPL) matches with his side winning just once in his absence.

The club confirmed the keeper's return to training but stated that he is not yet ready for action.

"Good to see our shot stopper back after a long injury lay-off. He started light training and of course it will take a while to see him back on the pitch but he is on the right track," the club announced.

In Oyemba's absence, Gad Mathews and Brian Bwire have been the men in charge. In Oyemba's absence, the side has not kept a clean sheet and has shipped in 12 goals.

Sharks sits eighth on the Kenyan Premier League log, having amassed 34 points in 25 league matches played this season. William Muluya's side has eight wins, 10 draws and seven losses in those 25 matches 

The side will be back in action on Sunday against Mathare United at Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani
