The Kenya Under-20 national team registered mixed results in two friendly matches played on Tuesday 13 December at the Moi International Sports Center (MISC) Kasarani, losing one and winning the other.
The John Kamau led side thumped Mathare United U20 3 – 0 in the morning build up match thanks to Chris Owino's hat-trick.
In the second friendly, the team went down 0 – 2 to National Super League side Nairobi Stima. Emmanuel Onyancha and Brian Juma netted a goal apiece in the second half with the youngsters unable to pull back.
Ovella Ochieng’ was a culprit of missed chances in either half of the Stima game, at one point wasting a one against one chance after being put through by Musa Masika. Jafari Owiti too had an opportunity as well in the second half but Stima goalie came out on time to stop his attempt.
A defensive lapse on the Kenya U20 side cost Kamau’s charges before Stima got the opening goal on the 52nd minute through Onyancha before Juma doubled the lead ten minutes to the end of the game.
Kenya is preparing to face Cameroon in a friendly match on Saturday 17 December.
