Following a tragic week that had a player from the reserve league die on the pitch, the Azam-sponsored Tanzania Women Premier League went into a break on a high with Lilly Awuor who has been in scintillating form scoring four goals for Kigoma Sisters in the 10-0 thrashing of Victoria FC at the Kaitaba Stadium on Wednesday 7 December.

Complimenting Lilly's four goals, Amina Ramadhan netted a hat-trick before Sabahi Hashim, Vumilia Maarifa and Amina Ali netted a goal apiece. Kigoma Sisters who now tops the log maintained their good run despite missing one of their dependable forwards who joined the military.

Giving remarks on why he settled so fast in Tanzania, as opposed to the norm of having some new players take a while when joining a team; Lilly said that she had an all round support system that kept pushing her to better herself.

Support/Teamwork

"I owe my success to my teammates who have been outstanding, and our teamwork won us most of the matches. I would also like to acknowledge the immense support of the technical bench and my family, they gave me the mental push to withstand the pressure." She said

Talking about her future expectations, Lilly cited that she will keep working hard with an aim of bagging the golden boot at the end of the season.

"My aim is to go back to the second leg stronger and better in order to help my club win the league. I wouls also like to keep scoring and top the charts since I believe that is the mark of a striker, and it will be key for my future now that I would like to play professional soccer in Europe." she added
