Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side Mathare United will be holding trials to bolster the team’s ranks ahead of the 2017 season, which kicks off in mid February.
The club has posted on its official Facebook page that the process will be commencing on Monday 9 and go on until Wednesday 11 January, inviting players who feel they have what it takes to take part.
18 - 23 years
The trials will be conducted at the Goan Institute grounds, where the team trains regularly and the club reveals it will be giving the chance to players aged between 18 and 23, who as well must be must be of Kenyan origin.
“The senior team will hold trials for three days starting Monday 9 January to Wednesday 11 January as we look to bolster our ranks ahead of the 2017 campaign.
“All interested players should be between the age of 18 and 23 years. The player must also be of Kenyan origin. The trials will commence at exactly 9am at the Goan Institute Grounds for the three days,” the statement reads.
The 2008 KPL champions, currently under head coach Francis Kimanzi’s tutelage, finished the 2016 season in seventh place and will be hoping for an improvement in the coming season.
