The Kenyan Premier League Round 29 will take center stage over the weekend, with nine matches lined up for Saturday 14 – Sunday 15 October across the country, one which will be aired live while two men join the list of players ineligible to feature for their teams.
The live action on Bamba Sports on the weekend will be the clash pitting Gor Mahia against Mathare United at the Thika Sub County Stadium on Saturday, starting 3pm EAT.
In the meantime, KPL newbies Zoo FC will be hosting Ulinzi Stars at the Kericho Green Stadium on Saturday but the hosts will not have the freedom to call on defender Isaac Kipyegon, who is on five yellow cards, the latest coming in the 2 – 2 draw with Nzoia Sugar FC on Wednesday 11 October.
Zoo will however have the clearance to call on goalkeeper Vincent Misikhu, who was suspended for the midweek clash.
Kipyegon will be joined on the sidelines by Kariobangi Sharks defender Michael Bodo who is also on five yellow cards after being booked in the barren draw with Tusker on Wednesday. As a result, Bodo stands suspended for the clash against Chemelil Sugar at Moi International Sports Center (MISC) Kasarani.
Brian Otieno of Nzoia Sugar will also sit out the weekend action when his team takes on Sony Sugar at the Awendo Green Stadium. He is on five yellow cards, the latest having come in the midweek game against Zoo FC.
The two join the earlier suspended players – Salim Abdalla of AFC Leopards; Victor Ademba of Sony Sugar; Anthony Wambani of Bandari FC; Sofapaka’s Willis Ouma; Lennox Ogutu and David Owino of Mathare United; Smith Ouko and Faraj Ominde of Chemelil Sugar and Gor Mahia’s Ernest Wendo.
In the other matches lined up over the weekend, AFC Leopards will be taking on Posta Rangers at Narok County Stadium; Bandari will be at home to Sofapaka at the Mbaraki Stadium on Saturday starting 3pm EAT.
On Sunday, Kakamega Homeboyz will be at home to Nakumatt FC at the Mumias Sports Complex while Sony Sugar will be at the Awendo Green Stadium to face off with Nzoia Sugar as Tusker hosts Muhoroni Youth at the Ruaraka Stadium, with Western Stima and Thika United faciong off at Moi Stadium, in Kisumu.
