Cornelius Juma, making his debut for Sofapaka FC after joining from Mt. Kenya FC, grabbed the equalizer with a minute left of normal time to deny AFC Leopards their first win of the campaign as both sides played to a 2-2 draw in a match day 3 encounter played at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday 22 December.

Juma scored to cancel out Aziz Okaka's strike in the 75th minute that had looked like the decisive goal to help claim Leopards' first win of the campaign.

Opening goal

Marvin Nabwire had put Leopards in the driving seat just five minutes after kickoff with a hard shot from the edge of the area after being teed up by the impressive Okaka.

The goal would remain until after the restart when Michael Oduor delivered a moment of magic with a curling shot from outside the area that caught Leopards' Rwandese custodian Erick Ndaiyshimiye unawares.

Sofapaka's highline defence was their achilles hill as Okaka slotted in with 15 minutes left on the clock with a hard shot that Richard Aimo in goal could have dealt with.

The draw is Leopards second in succession following the 1-1 draw with Kariobangi Sharks last time out. It also leaves them winless as they lost 3-0 to Kakamega Homeboyz on the opening day of the season.

For Sofapaka, the point adds to the three garnered from the opening day 2-1 win over Mt. Kenya FC.
