A week after joining Georgian top flight side Kolkheti Poti with his Kenyan counterpart Amos Nondi on a three year deal, former Laiser Hill midfielder John Macharia has been confirmed as a member of the club's Reserve team.
The two players left for Georgia on Monday 10 July for their medicals ahead of signing pro deals with the club and on Monday 17 July the club confirmed that Nondi will be part of the senior team set up where he is set to join his former team mate at Gor Mahia left back Eric Marcelo Ouma while reliable sources revealed to Soka that Macharia will be monitored from the reserve team as he gets the chance to train with the first team once in a while.
“Poti "Kolkheti" confirms that they have added the Kenya Under 20 captain and midfielder Amos Nondi to their rank,” a note on the club’s official Facebook page noted.
“Both (Nondi and Macharia) have been handed three year deals with Macharia having been incorporated into the club’s reserve team to continue his development. He is expected to train with the senior team once in a while and if he proves himself then definitely he will earn promotion to the senior side,” the source said.
Poti’s junior side, where Macharia is expected to feature frequently, finished 12th in the country’s Reserve League in the just concluded 2015/16 season.
