AFC Leopards secured a slim 1-0 win over Sofapaka FC in a Kenyan Premier League clash played at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Wednesday 13 June.
Winger Brian Marita scored the game's only goal with a sumptuous lob from distance with six minutes left on the clock to secure Leopards second win in 10 matches that now lifts them up to sixth on the standings with 28 points while Sofapaka miss out on the chance at moving second and remain third with 31 points.
The win also has some pride for Leopards head coach Rodolfo Zapata who is unbeaten since taking over at The Den.
The Argentine since his appointment in April, has overseen five league games winning two and drawing three. Wednesday's win follows the 2-1 win over Thika United at the close of the first-leg business over a fortnight ago.
A sour note to come out of this though for Leopards is the injury to defender Moses Mburu who limped off late in the second half with what looked like a hamstring injury on his right leg.
