Kariobangi Sharks striker Masoud Juma's goal was not enough for Harambee Stars as the Kenya national team made up of locally based players was held to a 1-1 draw by Mauritania in a friendly clash staged in Morocco on Thursday 31 August.
After a scoreless first half Masoud opened the scoring in the the 58th minute but a late penalty in the 83rd minute by Khassa Camara ensured a share of the spoils.
The team being led by Stats assistants Musa Otieno and Frank Ouna has been bookmarked for CHAN 2018 which is expected to be held in Kenya, with a lot of players handed starting berths, tasting their first experience with the national team.

The other team which will be led by head coach Stanley Okumbi and John Kamau is already in Maputo, in time for the friendly clash against Mozambique slated for Saturday 2 September.
The team in Morocco will still get another chance to impress, when is faces Togo on Monday 4 September the same day Mauritania takes on Niger in another friendly clash..
