Mathare United floor Tusker to maintain top spot

Mathare United Football Club will head into week 8 of the 2018-19 Kenyan Premier League campaign with a crucial 2-1 win over Tusker at Ruaraka Grounds. 

Having taken the lead through center-half Johnstone Omurwa in the first half, youngster James Kinyanjui would double the lead for the SlumBoys and render Peter Nzuki's 79th minute goal a mere consolation. 

The win keeps Mathare's lead at the top at two points as second placed Bandari FFC also notched a win on the road to Mount Kenya United.  They are however now four points away from Tusker who occupy pending other matches set for Sunday.
