Since joining Gor Mahia at the start of the year from Tusker FC, midfielder Humphrey Mieno has been a key member of the Dylan Kerr coached side with the player receiving plaudits from fans on his displays.

The former Azam FC man continued with his good show with two assists to his name in the club’s midweek CAF Confederations Cup against Yanga SC, his pass for Ephrem Giukan’s first goal of the evening being the pick of the bunch.

According to the midfielder, there is nothing extraordinary in his style of play with the soft spoken lanky midfielder saying that it was their work as midfielders to ensure that they dictated play and provide assists where necessary.

“There was nothing extraordinary in that pass. It is our work as midfielders to ensure we can control the game and give assists where necessary. It is never an individual work and we depend on our team mates to do the work. It is a collective effort in games,” Mieno said after their clash against Yanga.

The midfielder will hope he can be at his best when they come against his former employers AFC Leopards in the Mashemeji Derby slated for the MISC Kasarani on Sunday 22 July.
