As noted by Portuguese broadcaster SIC, Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira has insisted that "money is no issue" as the Portuguese giants try to lure Mourinho to Estadio da Luz.

Parted Ways

With Benfica having parted ways with head coach Rui Vitoria last week, Vieira said of Mourinho: "For now, Bruno Lage is the coach of Benfica. There will be news next week.

"I am his (Mourinho’s) friend. Who would not like to have Mourinho? I have not talked to him. If he says yes tomorrow, he'll be here at the drop of a hat. Money is no issue for Benfica."
