Harambee Stars head coach Stanley Okumbi has named his team that is set to take on Iraq and Thailand in October friendlies

Harambee Stars are set to take on Iraq and Thailand national teams on October 5 and October 8, 2017, respectively and in preparation for the matches, head Stanley Okumbi on Friday 22 September named the squad for the two assignments.

Okumbi has recalled Georgia based defender Erick Marcelo Ouma who missed Stars' last friendly game against Mozambique alongside Spain based Michael Olunga while captain Victor Wanyama, Ayub Timbe and Brian Mandela have all been left out. 

According to info on the federation's official portal, Wanyama, Timbe and Mandela are all nursing injuries with defender David Cheche Ochieng also missing due to issues to do with his travel documents.

Johanna Omollo

Belgian based midfielder Johanna Omollo is also out due to club commitments.

Locally based players are set to report to camp on the evening of Sunday 1 October at the Kenya School of Monetary Studies, before departure on October 2 while the foreign-based players will link up with the team in Iraq.

Gor Mahia midfielder Kenneth Muguna retains his place in the team but his team mate George Odhiambo's name is missing as Masoud Juma joins Olunga, John Makwatta and Jesse Were in the striking department.
