Eldoret Youth FC assistant coach Rogers Nandwa has praised his side despite going down 2-0 in a National Super League (NSL) match staged at Camp Toyoyo Grounds on Friday 11th January.

Second half goals from Kenney Ayako and new boy David Orem settled the hotly contested clash between the former KPL side and the NSL newbies.

In his post-match interview, Nandwa a former Bungoma Allstars coach applauded his side saying they did well against an experienced outfit.

"The boys tried, to play against an experienced team like Wazito and lose 2-0 isn't very bad, if you look at the goals we conceded, they were very tactical goals. The boys are young and I applaud them because they are learning very fast,"he said.

Nandwa, who also holds Vietnamese citizenship however believes the outcome would have been different had his side converted the chances they created in the first stanza of the game.

"I feel we had the upperhand in the first half. We had chances to score but the boys were not calm in front I think they were excited and wasted them. We have to to better in our next," he said.

Nandwa started his football career at football powerhouse, St. Anthony's Boys Kitale Kitale before later turning out for the now defunct Kitale FC. He moved to Nzoia Sugar and later to Vietnam where he played for over a decade and acquired its citizenship. He recently returned to the country and took charge of Bungoma Allstars before moving to Eldoret Youth in 2018.

Next for the Eldoret based side is a match against fellow NSL newbies, Shabana FC.
