The Kenyan Premier League (KPL) has sent a communique to newsroom in the early afternoon of Friday 10 November informing the public about a change of date in the clash between league newbies Zoo Kericho and relegation threatened Thika United.

In an earlier fixture, both teams were slated to face each other on Saturday 11 November at the Kericho Green Stadium but the according to the latest development, the match has been moved to Wednesday 15 November with KPL giving no reason for the postponement.

The change also affects the KICK Off time of the match between Western Stima and Posta Rangers that was to be played on the same ground on Saturday 11 November; the absence of the first clash between Zoo and Thika pushing the game forward to a 3pm Kick Off time and not the 4:15pm EAT time that had been communicated earlier.

Zoo Not Safe

At this point of the season, its not safe yet to say Zoo will be in the KPL for another season as they find themselves in position 13 with 37 points; just two points above relegation threatened Thia United with two games to go; a win between the two probably determining who will be staying afloat.

On the Posta Rangers against Western Stima tie, it’s the latter who are in dire need of points as they are placed second from last on the KPL log; a loss here might go along way in seeing their association with the nation’s top flight league coming to an end. Rangers should be happy with their 2017 outing as they sit in second spot with 50 points; the same number points as defending champions Tusker FC.
