Ex AFC Leopards captain Martin Imbalambala, who now features for National Super League (NSL) side Vihiga United is targeting to help the team earn promotion to the top-tier, Kenyan Premier League (KPL)
The midfielder, who was part of the Vihiga squad that beat Wazito FC 2-0 on Wednesday, says he has settled well with the Edward Manoah side, and is working hard to play in the KPL next season and hopefully get back to the National team.
“Any team or individual would like to play in the top flight and I want to do my best and help Vihiga achieve this. We have a good team here and we know we can go all the way and be in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) next season.
“At a personal level I want to be back to my best and with that done, I am confident that a lot of positive things will come my way. My ambition is to get a recall to the national team which again is any player’s dream,” Imbalambala remarked.
The soft spoken midfielder intimated that he might fancy a move later in the year but was quick to laud Wazito FC for a well worked effort.
“You never know in football. My target at the moment is to help Vihiga get promoted and it will be an achievement I will be proud of. Whether I will be with them in the league should they get promoted is another thing.
‘Wazito gave us a good game today but we fought to the end. There are no easy games in the NSL but we are determined to win our games,” Imbalambala opined.
The midfielder has previously featured for Nakumatt FC ad Kakamega Homeboyz in the KPL.
