Former Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side KCB made it two wins in a row after stopping fast falling Nakumatt FC 1-0 in an early round 31 National Super League (NSL) clash at Ruakara on Saturday 29 October 2019.

Soon after, in another early game played at the Sudi Stadium in Bungoma, league leaders Nzoia United stayed unbeaten with a 5-0 flattening of hapless Police FC.

Sixth straight win

At Ruaraka, Nicholas Messi Kamau scored the decider three minutes into the second half to hand KCB a second straight win that follows on a similar result over Oserian last weekend.

His score meant the league favorites Nakumatt went from bad to worse as they have now given away 11 points in the last five games.

Heading to the tie, Nakumatt had posted four straight draws, the last three against Nairobi Stima, FC Talanta and Kariobangi Sharks being barren draws.

KCB stays sixth on the log, now with 54 points and five behind Nakumatt who stayed put at third spot.

Benjamin Muchuma brace

At Sudi, Nzoia’s invincibility improved to 31 games as they recorded a sixth straight win in the league – the 14th in 16 home games, and 24th of the season.

The Bernard Mwalala coached side led 3-0 at half time before finishing off Police who went to the game on the back of a 1-0 loss to Zoo FC of Kericho last weekend.

Patrick Kwitonda opened the scoring in just the third minute and six minutes on the home team doubled matters when Lawrence Juma – recently called up to the Harambee Stars scored his seventh goal of the season.

Benjamin Muchuma then grabbed a brace, his first goal a minute to the half hour mark and the second a minute into the second half.

Brian Yakhama, whose goal handed Nzoia a 2-1 win over Modern Coast Rangers last weekend in Mombasa, crowned the five star performance with a 79th minute strike.

Pending other results from Saturday fixtures, Nzoia are now 19 points clear of Zoo FC who were home to Ligi Ndogo at the Kericho Green Stadium. The sugar millers are on 79 points from 31 games, a massive 47 points better than their victims Police who are placed 14th on the 20-team log.
