Former Timsales and Ligi Ndogo SC tactician George Maina is settling in well at FKF National Super League (NSL) side Nakuru AllStars. The coach joined the side in mid-March 2017 and has so far led the side in six games.
In the six fixtures; he has won, drew and lost two – on Sunday 9 April whipping MOSCA 4 – 1 at Afraha Stadium, a match he says the his players' performance satisfied him.
“So far I am settling in well. Ever since I joined the team in preseason I started working on how to achieve our season targets. This is not my first time in this area (Nakuru) and so it was easy for me to adapt.
“Against MOSCA we had a good game. I think we have started picking our rhythm. I am happy at how we shut our opponents, win the ball and how we score. Generally I am pleased, the two losses had discouraged us but we have rectified our weaknesses and back to normalcy,” he told Soka.
His team will be up against KCB FC on Wednesday 12 April and Maina is hopeful of giving the bankers a run for their money.
“It will be a good game we have to maintain our tempo throughout. KCB is a good team with an experienced squad but we shall give our best.”
AllStars are 12th on the 20-team log with eight points from six rounds.
