Ushuru FC will stay on top of the National Super League (NSL) heading into the new week after former premiership side Western Stima left the Coast win-less on Sunday evening.
Having themselves won against Administration Police on Saturday, Ushuru hoped Stima would stutter against Modern Coast Rangers and they sure did, ending their Coastal trip in a barren draw.
After 19 rounds of league matches, Ushuru stay top on 38 points whereas Stima follow closely at 37.
Sunday saw a string of mixed results from other second tier teams. Isibania took a hard 3-0 beating against Nakuru All Stars at the Afraha Stadium while Coast Stima dispatched school boys Green Commandos 2-0 at the Mbaraki Sports Club. A Teddy Siwa goal either side of a John Njuguna set the Nakuru side on the path to their third win of the season.
All Stars stay at the foot of the log while Isibania drop to 15th spot on the 19-team NSL log. Commandos occupy 16th place with 16 points while Coast Stima are in the top half, 9 with 29 points from 19 matches.
Kenya Police struck twice past FC Talanta for a win that sees them keep up the pace with log leaders. They get to 31 points, same as Bidco United, Modern Coast Rangers and Kibera Black Stars- Bidco sitting at the top of them on 5th with superior goal difference.
