Ulinzi Stars forward Enosh Ochieng is likely to miss the Sunday 25 February Kenyan Premier League (KPL) clash against AFC Leopards.
The forward scored Ulinzi's first goal of the season in the KPL opener against Zoo FC but has not played since then following a metatarsal injury picked in the clash.
He was expected to make a return against Leopards but he feels it might be too early for him since he will not be fit enough after failing to resume training on Tuesday.
“I haven’t resumed training yet and so I don’t think I will be fit enough for the weekend game. For me as a player this is a blow because I had targets for the season and when this happens I get derailed,” he told the club’s official portal.
Ochieng hopes his side can pick maximum points from the Ingwe clash, saying they have been working hard and playing well in their opening three league matches.
“I can’t say the second win is elusive; the team has been playing well and pushing hard, which is commendable and going to the Leopards game, I hope we can get those three points,” he added.
Ulinzi has so far amassed four points which puts them at position seven on the league standings.
