Okumbi recalls Omolo, Omar for Uganda, DRC games

Harambee Stars head Coach Stanley Okumbi has named 11 foreign based players for two upcoming international games against Uganda and DRC Congo scheduled for Thursday March 23 and Sunday 26 March, 2017 respectively, at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.

Johanna Omolo who recently helped Royal Antwerp to promotion to Belgium's top flight league has been factored in for the two games after close to a year out. He last featured in Okumbi's team in March 2016 in identical 1-0 losses to Guinea Bissau in third and fourth round 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. 

Wanyama to lead the lot

Also called in for the two games are two left backs Abud Omar (Slava Sofia, Bulgaria) and Erick Ouma (FC Kolkheti, Georgia) as well as Zesco trio of Anthony Akumu, Jesse Were and David Owino. 

David Ochieng of New York Cosmos, USA),  and Chinese based pair of Ayub Timbe (Beijing Renhe, China) and Michael Olunga (Guizhou Zhicheng, China) have also received invites. Brian Mandela (Maritzburg, South Africa) and skipper Victor Wanyama (Tottenham Hotspurs, England) are all in the plans for the game. 

Earlier on, Okumbi had unveiled his 26-man local based list that were to start preparations in Machakos on Monday 19 March.
