Posta Rangers Head Coach Sammy Pamzo Omolo was full of praise for man of the match Geoffrey Kataka whose lone strike handed his side three crucial points against Western Stima in a Kenyan Premier League (KPL) played on Sunday 9 April at the Afraha Stadium in Nakuru.
Kataka weaved through Stima defence before unleashing a low shot into the back of the net with Stima goalkeeper Stephen Odhiambo well beaten – a goal that ensured Rangers come back to Nairobi with the maximum points. Pamzo, in his post-match comments praised Kataka who was on his first start for the mail men this season.
“I talk about individual brilliance and it was visible in Kataka. I am happy for him this was his first start and he scores the winner. It shows improvement and I expect more from him in the coming games.
“The game was tough but what I liked with the team was their spirit and commitment. We have only conceded a goal, yet to lose a match and this is what I want to keep doing this season. We have our target of surpassing last season’s performance,” he added.
“We have one of the best squads in the premier league but I don’t want to put my players under pressure, all I want is them to perform. We have everything to keep going - let’s see what happens in our next fixture,” the former Kenyan international concluded.
Posta are second on the 18-team log with eight points, one below leaders Gor Mahia from four games. The team has only conceded a goal against Kakamega Homeboyz.
