Newly signed Mathare United forward Ronald Reagan has stated his elation at grabbing his first goal for the club in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL), scoring in the round 19 clash against Sony Sugar on Sunday 6 August.

The goal was not enough to guarantee Mathare United a fourth win of the season as Amos Asembeka’s strike ensured the two sides shared spoils in a 1 – 1 draw at the Awendo Green Stadium.

The former Kibera Black Stars man will not get an immediate chance to extend his tally following the postponement of the week 20 matches but he will be gunning for more at the earliest possible chance.

More goals

“I feel good to have scored because my target was to get at least one goal in the first five matches that I play. I hope in the next match I will add more goals,” he told the club’s website.

Reagan, signed in the midseason transfer window, hopes to play a bigger role in the Slum Boys’ quest for a fine finish to the season and he says he is not pressured at all.

No pressure

“I have not been under any pressure (for not scoring) because I have been taking each game at a time. My target is to score two more goals and hit my initial target of three goals in the first five matches then from there I can set new targets,” he added.

Mathare United, placed 17th on the log with 17 points, will take on the troubled AFC Leopards who are 13th with 20 points.
