Kariobangi Sharks Coach William Muluya has expressed his delight after extending AFC Leopards nine-match winless streak with a 2-0 win in a Kenyan Premier League (KPL) match staged at the Kinoru Stadium on Saturday 1 July.

Commenting on the outcome of the match, Kanu admits that Leopards were no pushovers and could have easily won the match had they utilised their chances. He however says that Sharks players played their hearts out hence the positive outcome.

Unfortunate

"It was a good game because if we look at the number of attempts and chances they created, they were just unfortunate and they could have also won. It's the premier league, and it's a tough one. You never know who is going to take it since there is no weaker opponent,"he said.

The former Mathare coach has eyes set on the upcoming matches, but he says the win will be a big motivation to the team going forward.

Strategy

"Getting three points is a motivation, because it's the first time we have won here. The boys gave a spirited effort especially in the second half, and going forward we will look at the positives in the just concluded match and come up with a strategy on how to handle the next matches as we hope for the best," he added.

Sharks will now face Kakamega Homeboyz and Zoo Kericho respectively in their next league matches.
