After crashing out of the GOtv Shield semifinal, losing to Kariobangi Sharks in a match staged at the Afraha Stadium in Nakuru on Sunday 24 September; Sony Sugar coach Salim Babu has shifted focus to the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) with the target being to rise from the bottom half.

The Millers fell to a Masud Juma brace in the cup game and next up for them is a league assignment against Posta Rangers.

Speaking to Soka in a post-match interview, Babu who has won his last three KPL matches; against Tusker FC, AFC Leopards and Western Stima lauded his charges for a good show in the GOtv Shield despite falling at the penultimate stage. He is confident his team can put up a good show in the remaining KPL matches.

“We had a good run in the GOtv Shield because reaching the semifinal was not easy. We played tough teams along the way and did well. We leave the tournament heads high as we now shift focus to the KPL. Our last three matches have been good and we will be looking to register a fourth win against Posta especially now that we will be playing at home,” he said.

The Awendo side is 11th on the log with 32 points while Rangers have 39 points in sixth position. The Mailmen have not registered a win in their last nine encounters and would be plotting for redemption against the millers.
