Match day 24 of the National Super League checks in on Wednesday 6 September with seven matches on the cards. League leaders Vihiga United are away to Modern Coast Rangers as they aim to put daylight between them and the chasing pack. The midweek’s top attraction though will see second placed Ushuru FC take on third placed Nairobi Stima. The two teams are both tied on 46 points with Stima having played a game more.

On the other opposite end of the log, St. Joseph Youth will be hoping for all three points against Bidco United in their quest to avoid the slip.

Modern Coast Rangers vs Vihiga United

Last time out Vihiga lost 1-0 to fellow title chasers Nairobi Stima with the loss cutting their advantage at the top to just four points. Aiming to get back to winning ways, they travel to Mombasa to take on Rangers who have largely been inconsistent this season with a total of six wins and eight losses in 22 games played. They currently lie 12th with 26 points.

Vihiga will be without the services of former AFC Leopards man Martin Imbalambala who is serving a one game ban for accumulation of yellow cards.

Nairobi Stima vs Ushuru FC

The week’s top attraction will see Nairobi Stima host Ushuru FC in Karuturi with both teams looking to cut the deficit at the top between them and Vihiga United. Both are tied at 46 points with Ushuru edging Stima by virtue of a superior goal difference. Ushuru are the league’s most clinical side with 38 goals scored. Their strike force of Lwamba Bebeto and Benson Amianda have combined for a total of 17 goals. Stima’s defense is the league's meanest with only 10 goals conceded.

Stima’s league placing is quite the opposite compared to where they stand in the fairplay log. Only one team has accumulated more bookings than Stima's 50 yellow cards - Wazito FC, on 58 yellow cards.

Kibera Blackstars vs KCB

Another team aiming to win promotion to the Kenya Premier League (KPL), KCB will be away to Kibera Black Stars at the Camp Toyoyo grounds in Nairobi. Only a point separates them with third place Stima. Black Stars are 14th with 22 points.

Other matches include; Isbania vs Administration Police, Nakuru All Stars vs Talanta, St. Joseph Youth vs Bidco United, Agro Chemical vs Nairobi City Stars

All matches are scheduled for 3PM kickoffs.
