Sofapaka FC head coach Melis Medo believes his side will have to work on their strike force and defence if they are to win games after the team recorded a 2-1 loss at the hands of Bandari FC in week two of the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) action.
As quoted by the clubs official portal, Medo says they could have easily won the game 4-2 but his players couldn’t just get the ball behind the net.
“I am not going to blame anyone, we did our part, created the chances and fairly, it should have been 4-2. We had the chances to score but we just couldn’t get the ball behind the net. We played well but we have to work on our finishing,” Medo opined.
Apart from the strike force, the American believes his team should have defended better more so when they lost the balls and saw lapses in defence which he feels needed to be addressed; the tactician however intimating that it was too early in the season to gauge their potential.
“We also need to look at our defending and how we press when we lose the ball. It was not very good when we played against Bandari. We had some few lapses in defense that we need to address.
“It is still too early and it’s just the beginning. We are just warming up but we still have a long way to go. We are not playing bad football we just need to keep working and keep improving,” he stated.
Next for Medo and his team in the league is a tricky tie against AFC Leopards; the match slated for Kenyatta Stadium-Machakos on Saturday 22 December.
